5 Ways ANYONE can Make Money Online

First of all let me start with an apology. I’ve slightly misled you with the title. When I say ‘5 ways ANYONE can make money online’ I don’t mean anyone can make money online.

To be able to make money online you have to have two things - a computer and an Internet connection. So only people with these two things can earn money on the Internet.

‘Don’t be stupid’ I hear you saying ‘If I didn’t have these I wouldn’t be reading this article’. Correct (and I know this) the point I want to make is there are no barriers to earning money on the Internet. You don’t need to be an Internet ‘whizzkid’, you don’t need loads of money to invest and you don’t need previous experience. All you need is your trusty computer an Internet connection and a willingness to learn and work to achieve your goals.

Ok enough of my pre-amble let me give you a brief overview of the ways ANYONE can make money online.

Paid Online Surveys

Companies spend millions of dollars each year asking people like your self questions on various topics. Why? Fundamentally they need to know what people think and the only way they can do this is by asking people. The more they know about their customer base the better they will be able to market their products. And the better they market their products the more of these products they sell and the more money they make. As a result your opinion is valuable to hundreds of companies each year and these companies will pay as much as $75 per survey (average payment however is probably between $5 – $15 per survey).

You won’t earn enough to give up you job but you can earn a tidy extra sum each month.

ebay

Now I’m sure you’ve heard of the phenomenon that is ebay. This online service allows millions of people across the world to buy and sell goods in a giant online auction house.

Many people make money from ebay by selling unwanted items. However some people have gone further and make a living by buying stuff (from flea markets, yard / garage sales, charity shops etc.) and selling it on ebay at a profit.

Some of the really clever people out there do this by buying stuff on ebay and selling it back on ebay for a profit!! This is called ebay arbitrage. For this to work you need an expertise in a genre enough to see when a product is worth a lot of money but isn’t attracting a lot of bid attention (usually due to poor presentation, marketing or being put in the wrong ebay category). Once purchased at (what you know) to be a bargain price you place it on ebay yourself. This time however you place it in the right category, present it superbly and market it successfully and make a great big profit.

Think you don’t have the expertise? You’d be surprised. Look on ebay and see what sort of things they sell. There’s bound to be something that you have knowledge of through work or hobbies. With some research you’ll soon learn to spot a bargain in your area and as time goes on you’ll become more and more of an ‘ebay expert’ in your field and this is when the cash will start to role in.

Google Cash

Not as well known as ebay but still profitable for thousands and no website required.

Basically you find online business that will pay you commission for every customer that you send to them that buys one of their products. This is called Affiliate marketing.

Then you advertise these products using Google AdWords or another pay-per-click ad system.

When someone clicks on one of your ads and goes on to make a purchase from one of the online businesses mentioned above you get paid your commission.

Obviously you have to pay the company that hosts the pay per click ads every time someone clicks on your ads. However if you’re clever and do your research this will only cost you a few cents each time. With the rewards for each sale generated by one of these ads going into $30/40/50 you can see how this can be very profitable. This methods major advantage is flexibility. As a new craze hits you’re firmly aboard the gravy train. As interest starts to wane you pull you ads and advertise the next ‘big thing’.

Affiliate Marketing with your Website / Blog

As mentioned above affiliate marketing is where you generate leads for companies selling products on the Internet. If one of these leads makes a purchase you get an agreed commission.

For example say you have a website or blog on the subject of travel. As well as details about various destinations around the world you could host advertisements for companies providing flights to those destinations and hotels at those destinations. If one of your visitors clicks on one of these advertisements and makes a subsequent purchase you earn money.

There are also schemes (such as Google AdSense) where you get paid commission for one of your visitors just clicking on one of your ads. No Sale required!

Don’t be put off by the thought of building a website. You don’t have to be a programmer nowadays to build a website. There are many tools available now that allow you build a website just by typing and organising blocks.

Build an Online Store

An online store is a website where you can shop for products or services. Visitors to these sites search or browse for their required item and when found add it to their shopping cart. When ready to make a purchase the visitor checks out and pays for the product via Credit Card or another online payment system such as PayPal.

The biggest and best example of this is Amazon, which started off selling books, and Cds before expanding to sell almost everything.

Obviously I wouldn’t recommend going into competition with Amazon (that would be madness!) but if you can find a niche and market it properly an online store is the most profitable online business there can be.

iPhone. Getting ridculous.

This picture here is obviously fake, but still hilarious. It may sound silly, but who knows when Apple will get the idea and make these one day?

The Apple iPhone - Why?

In January of 2007, Apple announced that it was entering into the portable phone market with the development and launch of the iPhone. Scheduled for release in June of 2007, the Apple iPhone will be able to play music like an iPod, surf and browse the web, take pictures, showcase videos, send text messages and emails, and, maybe, make or take a phone call or two.

Big deal.

For every new cell phone or cell phone company that introduces itself to the market, proclaiming that their particular model of cell phone can, say, play music, there are dozens of other names and brands, some popular, some not, that can do exactly the same thing. What's the catch? What's the hook? Where's the innovative technological design that's supposed to make the public stand up and take notice?

Now, the Apple iPhone does have complete virtual touch-screen. There are no raised buttons to press and push, and everything is operated with the sense of a finger. Now, that actually is a cool feature, but, it might not be completely practical. Why? Simply because when I look at my hands, I see chubby fingers that are not going to be able to accurately press any button on a small touch screen. Now, unless that screen is 6" across, which, if that were the case, might defeat the entire mobility purpose of the phone.

Why does Apple feel the need to develop and create their own portable phone? Could it be that they really want to revolutionize portable communication? Do they want to make the world a better place? Can they offer something that no one else can?

Look at it this way: why does Lindsay Lohan think she could sing?

Because it's another revenue stream to be mined, that's why? Now, there's no doubt that the iPhone is cool, and will find a popular and receptive audience. But, like Lohan's singing attempts, it doesn't really improve the world and the world wouldn't notice it if it weren't around. It's just there, and it will make money. Partially because of its features, partially because of curiosity seekers, and partially because of people loyal to the brand name.

No one is begrudging Apple for getting in on the portability craze. After all, Apple may have taken that craze to incredible heights with the development and release of the iPod. So, it makes sense, then, to fuse the iPod with a cellular phone. But, it's already been done before.

Maybe the real issue is that if Apple released a phone without web, email, video player and other bells and whistles, that it simply wouldn't sell and just sit there on the shelves. If Lindsay Lohan had to sing on her own merits, she might be joining that lonely phone. But, add some studio effects, create some stylish videos and surround her with talented musicians, and she becomes passable and tolerable.

In today's ultra-connected world, it seems that no one will buy a cell phone for the expressed purpose of having a phone with you while on the go. You need to have everything or your will appear to be nothing.

Making Money Online with Google AdSense

Many marketing professionals are using Google to place targeted ads in front of prospective customers. This is increasingly effective due to the highly targeted nature of Google AdWords. Google AdSense, the other side of the online advertising equation, allows website owners to make money by provided contextually targeted ads to their website traffic.

Providing targeted ads to your online visitors creates a better user experience and communicates your knowledge of the audience you serve. Google AdSense automatically delivers text and image ads that are precisely targeted to your site and your site content through the Google AdSense advertising system.

If you’re involved with an affiliate program such as commission junction, you know that signing up with, and maintaining relationships with advertisers is a full-time job. With Google AdSense, Google manages the relationships with advertisers for you, making the process simple and easy to manage. Once you place the appropriate code on your website, the AdSense program requires basically no maintenance.

How You Make Money

When you display Google ads on your website, you create the potential to generate revenue. Google places relevant cost-per-click and cost per thousand impressions ads into a real-time auction and lets multiple advertisers compete against one another for displaying their ad. The auction takes place instantaneously and when it's over AdSense automatically displays the text or image ads that will generate the maximum revenue for a given page, resulting in the maximum revenue for a web site owner.

Ads Are Updated When Your Content Changes

Google AdSense technology analyses the content of your web pages and delivers ads that are relevant automatically, no matter how many pages of content your site may have. As your content changes, Google's ads change to match.

Google Ads Can be Customized in Look and Feel

AdSense allows you to customize the appearance of your ads to fully match the look and feel of your site. As of the writing of this article, Google AdSense provides more than 200 colors and 24 pre-set color palettes to choose from. Additionally, you can create and save your own custom palettes using a point-and-click color selection tool which is relatively simple to use. This ensures a consistent user experience for those browsing your web site.

Track Your Earnings Online

The key to making money with Google AdSense is to monitor your ad performance with customizable online reports. These reports are available online and offer details regarding the number of page impressions delivered, clicks, and click-through rate. You can also track the performance of specific ad formats, colors and pages, allowing you to spot trends quickly and easily. The reporting tool lets you group your web pages however you want, so you can gain insight into your earnings by viewing results by URL, domain, ad type, and category. When you spot revenue trends, develop more content for your site in the areas that produce the highest Google AdSense revenue.

If you are interested in getting started as a Google AdSense publisher, just go to your web browser and type in Google AdSense. You’ll find information about the program and a link to the program registration form. Signing up is pretty easy. It only takes a few minutes to apply online for both content and search ads. Once you're approved, you simply need to log in to your account, copy and paste a block of HTML code into your existing ad server or directly into any of your web pages. Relevant ads start to appear on your web pages right away, and you start making money from the first impression or click.

Be sure to evaluate the effectiveness of your program at least once per week. Doing so allows you to determine what type of content is driving the largest percentage of your online advertising revenue. As mentioned previously, when developing new content for your site, be sure to focus on the areas that are driving the greatest ad revenue as indicated by your online Google AdSense reports.

Maximizing Google adsense revenue

Google has got the reputation of being the most used search engine available on the internet. From then on any program that Google has launched has been nothing but a success, take Google adsense for example. Millions of webmasters over the world integrate adsense into their site in the attempt to make a nice stream of profit every month. There are certain tips & tricks in which you can boost your adsense earning so make sure you follow them!

When you integrate Google adsense into your site people will tell you good layouts and types to use in order to get good click through ratio (CTR), the vertical skyscrapers have shown to provide good results but you are best testing various layouts to find the best for your site. What works for someone else may not necessarily work for you. Another thing that will need testing is the colour of the ad, one word of advise is to use the same border colour as the background colour as this blends the advertisement into the website better which gives a higher CTR.

Many people can spot an advertisement a mile off making them avoid it but the key to making a good income from adsense is to legally blend it into the site making them assume it’s a genuine link, you cannot trick them by saying click here or placing ads next to pictures so they are relating the text to the picture. You have to be careful and follow the terms and conditions very carefully as one false move will result in your account getting terminated, along with any income for that month. You are only allowed one account per person, if you are found to making another account after you have been banned then you will get found out when they come to review your account and terminate that one which will mean you have wasted all that time building the balance up to $100 which can take several months in some cases.

By knowing what the higher paying keywords are in your niche you can make more money for doing no extra work, just make sure that you revolve your content around them so that the advertisements are relevant to it giving a higher payout per click. Make sure that you don’t make irrelevant pages just to bump up your adsense account balance as it’s breaking the terms and conditions and lead to account termination.

How to Make Every AdSense Ad on the Google Network Pay You!

Wouldn’t it be great if every keyword in Google’s entire inventory could be relevant to your site? Imagine that no matter what any person searched for, all of the ads that came up in the SERPs (Search Engine Result Pages) paid you whenever someone clicked on them.

Sound good to you? That’s great. I think it sounds pretty cool as well, so let’s get busy making it happen for your web site.

Here’s a very much overlooked opportunity for AdSense users

That opportunity is called Google Search and this is how it works:

Tucked inside of your AdSense control panel is a section for creating a Google search box. Most AdSense users don’t even pay attention to it, and that’s a shame because hidden inside of that box is a lot of money that’s wanting to be yours.

When you add that search box to your web site you are creating an instant portal into Google’s entire keyword inventory. Any time a visitor runs a Google search from your site, every resulting AdWord ad that appears on the SERPs is tagged back to you. That means that no matter which ads they click on, money goes in your pocket. Got that? What an amazing earning opportunity.

By combining AdSense with the Google search box you open yourself up to an incredible opportunity to monetize your site. In fact, many AdSense users say that they earn more money from searches then they do from AdSense ads on their own page. And it makes sense when you think about it.

A clever idea gets even better

Just as you would expect, Google doesn’t leave you hanging without support or some great ways to make even more money. Take a look at the features and options that you can set up right from within your AdSense control panel.

Customized look and feel

You can grab the standard Google search box and be up and running in seconds. Or you can add your logo and make the box match your site’s color scheme with over 200 available colors.

Control the scope of your user’s search

You can configure the search box to search just your site or the entire Google network. It’s your choice. You can even provide your visitors with radio buttons that let them perform either search. No matter which search they choose, you’re making money every time they click on an ad.

Google will even host your internal site search result pages for you so you don’t have to spend a penny buying extra bandwidth or disk space from your ISP. How’s that for user-friendly?

Online Tracking Tools

Of course, Google also provides you with online tracking and reporting tools so you can see how well your shiny new search box is doing for you. You can see your queries, clicks, click-through rate and total earnings just like with your AdSense for Content ads.

So if you’re not earning money from every ad in Google’s inventory, log into your AdSense control panel and make it happen.

Making Money With Real Estate

The many ways of making money with real estate include not only the various types of property. Of course you can make money with land, apartment buildings, homes, commercial buildings and more. But with whatever type of real estate, there are different ways you'll make your profits. Some of those ways, and how to maximize them, are listed below.

1. Pay-down on the loan. Equity builds with every payment you make. If you get the lowest interest rate you can, more of each payment will go towards the principal.

2. Cash flow. Buy income property the right way, and you not only have your tenants paying all the costs and paying down the mortgage loan, but you also have positive cash flow. As a rule, just don't buy properties without cash flow.

3. Value appreciation. Sometimes making money with real estate can be as simple as holding on and waiting. For the most appreciation in value, however, you should buy in an area where demand is growing faster than the supply.

4. Tax depreciation. After all the tax law changes, you still get to declare a loss for depreciation that doesn't really exist. Saving at tax time, means more after-tax profit. To maximize this, buy property that has its value primarily in the buildings, because you can't depreciate the value of land.

5. Get instant equity by buying low. Buy below market and you get instant equity that will be converted into a profit when you sell. Offer a reason for the seller to sell low: fast closing, cash, assume some debts or liabilities, etc. Alternately, just make a low offer. A seller may have his own reasons to sell it cheap.

6. Selling high. If you clean it up nice, make it easy to buy, and find the right buyer, you'll get top dollar. The following four on the list cover ways to create value, so you'll get more when you sell.

7. Finance the sale. You'll often get substantially more for a property if you offer financing. This is especially true if you let someone buy it with little money down. You can also get good interest on the loan.

8. Changing the use. Find a higher use for the property, and you can convert it to make it worth more to the next owner. This could mean making condos into apartments, or apartments into condos. Perhaps converting a home into office space will get the biggest return.

9. Improve and repair. Repairing anything that needs it is obvious, but you need to look creatively and carefully to find improvements to make. Concentrate only on those that will raise the value several times more than what they cost you.

10. Sell it in parts. Sometimes in real estate, the parts are worth more than the whole. For example, splitting off an extra lot to sell for $30,000 will rarely decrease the value of a home by that much, so you'll make more money in the end.

Look at the sources of profit listed here, and think of how you can use a few of them on your next real estate investment. You can get wonderfully creative making money with real estate.
